FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

What is the concept of Re-feed?
‘Re-feed’ believes in minimizing the food wastage in Kuwait and region. So, the business idea is developed to coordinate with the various cafes, restaurants, eateries, commercial food outlets in Kuwait and collect the unutilized food products produced and resell the food items and make them available to ‘low income’ people at a discounted price. Thus, this venture will contribute in a big way to reduction of food wastage.

Why do these posh restaurants dispose of their excess production even if it is in good quality?
This is because of the policies framed by the restaurants themselves. They have to obey the set management rules & regulations for maintaining the standards of the restaurant.

How would one ensure that the food quality is fit for human consumption?
Re-feed vans would collect excess unutilized food and bring them to the centralized kitchen for testing and quality check. Once approved, they will be displayed at the specific outlets or distributed to the centers of low-income people. There will be complete adherence to quality standards as recommended by the municipal authorities and ministry of health.
